What should my dancer wear?

Proper dance attire helps dancers move safely, allows instructors to see proper technique, and creates a focused learning environment. Ballet: Leotard and tights (any color). Tap, Jazz, Pom & Contemporary: Leotard and tights, with the option to wear dance shorts over the leotard. Hip Hop: Comfortable athletic clothing that allows for movement. Clean, indoor sneakers are required. Please note: Jeans are not permitted in any dance class.

Can we start mid-season?

Absolutely! We welcome new dancers throughout the season, especially after fall sports. Please note that class availability may be limited, dancers may need to catch up on choreography, and recital costumes may no longer be available once orders have been placed.

How do costumes work?

Costumes are ordered in mid-November. For our younger dancers, we typically size up to allow for potential growth throughout the dance season. Once costumes have been ordered, costume fees are non-refundable, even if a dancer withdraws from class.

How much is tuition?

30 min classes: $60

45 min classes: $70

1 hr classes: $75

Where are you located?

We are located on the 1st & 2nd floor of the Cohasset Recreation building.

How many recitals?

Our annual recital is the highlight of the dance season! Held over Memorial Day Weekend, it features four exciting performances. Most classes perform in one recital, while some older classes may perform in multiple shows. When registering, you'll be able to see which recital(s) your dancer's class is scheduled to perform in.

Do boys dance?

Absolutely! Dance is for everyone. XDC is proud to have approximately 20 male dancers, and boys are welcome in all of our classes!

Where can I buy shoes?

XDC offers two shoe fittings in early September to ensure dancers are properly fitted. We allow room for growth whenever appropriate. If your dancer needs new shoes during the season, we're happy to help. If you choose to purchase shoes elsewhere, please follow our shoe requirements for the correct style, color, and brand.

Who do I pay tuition to?

Tuition is paid directly to Cohasset Rec. They do NOT have automatic payments, you will be required to login every month to pay. Annual tuition is calculated for the entire dance season and divided into 9 equal monthly payments for convenience. Monthly tuition payments are not based on the number of classes held in a given month. Tuition remains the same regardless of holidays, school vacations, weather-related closures, or missed classes.
